There is growing international interest in Skåne design. Influencers around the world have their attention focused on this dynamic region of southern Sweden. Now they have the chance to experience it through the eyes of creatives Micha van Dinther and Magnus Wittbjer.
“Long, light summer nights, with dramatic colour shifts at dawn and dusk. But also the narrow, cobblestoned streets of Gamla Väster in Malmö, lined by tiny houses in a rainbow of pastel shades,” is how TypeO describes the Högdager collection.
Project Make it Malmö
The Högdager collection is part of the project Make it Malmö, which aims to showcase Skåne as a design destination. Every year, Tourism in Skåne and Malmö Tourism invite over 100 journalists and bloggers so they can experience the region in person and write about it in their channels. This year, independent influencers are being given the opportunity to experience Malmö and Skåne in their own way. At their disposal they have an apartment at the OhBoy bicycle hotel, a bicycle, and a bus pass.
Showroom for Skåne design
To display some of the Skåne design scene in conjunction with this project, a professional curator, TypeO, was commissioned to furnish the apartment at the OhBoy hotel with design objects by Skåne designers. The project was funded with support from Region Skåne and the City of Malmö and was project managed by Form/Design Center. Two interior design concepts/collections have been produced for the period 1 May to 30 Sept 2018, when the apartment will be lived in by trendsetting influencers from the whole world, staying from two to five days each.
