Craftsmanship is the core of everything. A common thread that runs through most of the ceramist Karolina Brobeck's work in life. After training as a documentary filmmaker and then running a restaurant for many years, she started a ceramics course when her eldest son was born four years ago, "mostly to get away from home a bit". It was the beginning of an immediate and mutual love. And ended up with a whole new direction in life.
She describes herself as "a feminist with Aspergers, a bit of a lone wolf" and thrives best when she can work freely in her own ceramics studio in Malmö. Inspired by architecture, the body and finding solutions and with the drive in curiosity and a desire for constant forward movement, she designs ceramics that manage to be rustic but still delicate, often with a touch of humor.
