Together with educator Anna Zingmark, participants explore form, colour and materials through hands-on making. Drawing inspiration from what is currently on view in the building, children and adults work side by side, testing ideas and giving space to imagination. The workshop encourages curiosity and independent exploration, where process is valued as highly as the final result.
As part of the holiday workshop, you can try bookbinding, learning the basics and experimenting with materials such as cardboard and aluminium to create a personal book cover that stands out. This activity is suitable from age 10, or from age 7 when accompanied by an adult.
You can also take part in Colour, Form and Focus – a collaborative activity where we create a growing artwork of light, colour and form on a large illuminated wall. By moving and combining different shapes on an overhead projector, we build a vibrant, ever-changing world throughout the holiday. This activity is suitable for all ages.
The workshop is drop-in and takes place Tuesday–Thursday, 2–4 pm, and is suitable for both first-time makers and more experienced creators.
