Sofie Bly trained at Accademia Italiana Moda e Design in Florence in 1996. After ten years working in the Italian fashion industry she returned to Scandinavia and began as a shoe designer with Ilse Jacobsen in Hormbæk.
In 2011 she launched her own brand, Sofie Bly Shoes and Accessories, which she now owns together with Sofia Bonde. The company designs and sells vegetarian shoes and accessories in sustainable materials such as plant leather, organic cotton and recycled denim. The manufacturing is done in Europe. The main office, design studio and showroom are in Höganäs. Sofie Bly uses the circle as the basis of her design process when designing her collections.
The brand was nominated for the Guldknappen award by the Swedish magazine Damernas Värld in 2013. That same year Sofie Bly was also awarded the Guldkärnan award in the category of Designer of the Year by the Marknadsföreningen association in Helsingborg.
