Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies is well known, both nationally and internationally, for its furniture carpentry education, which started as early as 1930. Since the merger with Linköping University in 2000, their design program has established itself as one of Sweden's leading educations in the furniture field. The education has been included in the "Domus Top 100" since the turn of the year, a list of Europe's one hundred best design and architecture schools. Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies was awarded in connection with this year's Furniture Riksdag the award "Design School of the Year": "With a genuine tradition in the intersection of design and crafts, this school has managed to maintain a focus on products with real value for its users. The line of students who have completed this education and achieved significant success nationally and internationally is long. ” The focus is on wooden furniture where the key words are durability and quality. Other educational programs at the school are Furniture Conservation and Furniture Upholstery. All educations are professional educations resting on both a scientific and artistic basis. At the same time, a lot of space is prepared for the action-based knowledge under the motto: "Learning by Doing"! At the Form / Design Center, a small selection of objects and products from this Sweden's leading furniture school is displayed.
