There is scarcely no doubt that sea levels are rising. But how fast is it happening? An exhibition on rising water levels and what do extreme situations like gales and torrential rain involve? It is impossible to know exactly. Yet we must plan for what can happen.

In the exhibition “Vattnet kommer!” / “The Water’s Coming!” we present research results about landscape changes but also how people, decision makers, architects and planners are relating to the threat of rising sea levels in their planning and designing of a changing landscape.

By looking locally at municipalities here in Skåne and globally out into the world (USA, Europe and Asia), we show how various approaches can lead to differing answers about which measures are appropriate.

A result of a research collaboration between Lund University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, funded by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency with contributions from the Krapperup foundation and Region Skåne.
