During the evening, the studio will present its acclaimed work TRIBUN – a temporary public art installation centred on one of the most fundamental expressions of freedom of speech: taking space and making your voice heard. The work draws inspiration from the “soapbox” – the simple wooden crate that historically served as a physical platform for public speeches and debates in the urban realm.
TRIBUN was originally created for Sergels Torg in Stockholm to fill the void left when the iconic speaker’s platform steps were temporarily removed. Through a modular landscape of repeated wooden boxes, a democratic foundation is formed – both literally and symbolically. The installation functions as a speaker’s platform, podium, and meeting place, but also as a sculptural setting for rest, waiting, and observation. After activating Sergels Torg, TRIBUN has now been donated to Form/Design Center in Malmö, where the modules continue their journey and invite new encounters in the courtyard.
Live Music in the Courtyard with Squirrel Hunters
Squirrel Hunters are some of Malmö’s finest. Bluegrass Malmö’s power couple Max and Brita join forces with The Olsson Brothers — Daniel and Peter. Usually seen performing with bands such as Happy Heartaches and The Original Five, they now come together on stage as one. A band eager to play, delivering fast solos and rich vocal harmonies on themes of heartbreak, hardship, trains, pine trees, and the occasional wounded animal.
On stage with Squirrel Hunters
Max Tellving – guitar & vocals
Brita Björs – double bass & vocals
