The exhibition will provide space for designers and architects to explore and communicate the role of plastics in a circular economy in a co-creative process. The exhibition is part of the STEPS-project Design-driven change for sustainable plastic systems. The project brings together several parties and received funds in Formas annual communication call in 2023 with the aim of communicating STEPS' interdisciplinary research on plastics. STEPS is characterized by its scientific breadth and close collaboration with organisations that represent the entire value chain within plastics and is led from Lund University.

STEPS, Sustainable Plastics and Transition Pathways

The STEPS research program was initiated in 2016. Its vision is a future society where plastic is produced, used and recycled sustainably in a circular economy.

The program is led by Lund University, in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, RISE, IVL, 22 industry partners and Region Skåne. STEPS is funded by Mistra, the Foundation for environmental strategic research.
