The festival opens by taking the pulse of the illustration industry. In an illuminating panel discussion with Nordic member organizations working to strengthen the role of illustration in society, the current state of the field will be explored. The conversation centers on how organizations can support both the discipline and their members, while each panelist is invited to present their own trend forecast. This is a timely industry debate as well as a reflection on the raison d’être of illustration as a medium – why should we do what we do?
The discussion features representatives from Svenska Tecknare (SE), Grafill (NO), Kuvittajat ry (FI), and Illustratorerne (DK). The panel will be held in English and moderated by Marie Herzog.
Before and after the talk, the open mingle begins – a chance for all festival participants to meet: illustrators, collaborators, invited organizations, students, and curious visitors.
