The Danish artist and speculative designer Maria Viftrup, together with curator Sissel Fuldsang-Smidt and the organization Jordens Hus, has created a new discipline where art, science and agriculture meet to highlight the invisible life and significance of the earth.
During the work of exploring the earth in new ways, thirty researchers, artists and farmers have been invited to contribute with experiments in methods of feeling, understanding and relating to the earth.
Based on this research, Maria Viftrup has created a “Soil Sense Training Facility”. In the workshop in Kungsparken we test this “training form” together with Vifterup who shares knowledge and insights and guides us through new ways of getting to know the earth and nature. We start in the park and then move together to the exhibition “Soil Sensing” at Form/Design Center where we continue to discover the invisible life and significance of the earth.
This workshop is a collaboration between Form/Design Center and Malmö Konstmuseum and is part of the program in Southern Sweden Design Days.
