The Helsingborg City Building Award aims to inspire residents, developers, and architects to create environments of high architectural quality and sustainability – and to spark dialogue about how we can shape the city of the future together.

During the event at Dunkers kulturhus in Helsingborg, this year’s four finalists will be presented:

  • Brf Mariatorget
  • Å-bryggan i Råå hamn
  • Nederman huvudkontor
  • Brf Havsbrisen

The evening concludes with the announcement of the winner and the award presentation. The program also features inspiring talks on architecture and urban development, with speakers including Tore Banke from Third Nature Architects and architect Kerstin Barup. The discussions will be moderated by Veronica Hejdelind.

The award marks the first step in a new collaboration between the City of Helsingborg and Form/Design Center, initiated in 2025. The partnership strengthens the development of the designed living environment in northwestern Skåne and creates a platform for dialogue, learning, and the advancement of sustainable, inclusive, and attractive environments. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Knowledge Center for Designed Living Environment, based at Form/Design Center in Malmö and supported by Region Skåne.

About HELSINGBORGS STADSBYGGNADSPRIS

The Helsingborg City Building Award focuses on places and buildings that enrich the city’s design — from new construction to landscape spaces and renovation. Projects carried out by the city itself cannot be nominated, and the award may be given within three years of a project’s completion.

In addition to the main award, honorary mentions may also be presented. The jury evaluates the projects based on the city’s architectural tools:

  • Architectural concept
  • Human-centered design
  • Sensory experience and beauty
  • Context
  • Durability and sustainability

The jury consists of the Director of Urban Development, the City Architect, the City Gardener, the City Antiquarian, and the Chair and Vice Chair of the Urban Development Committee.
