Pop-up is a technique that brings paper to life in three dimensions through folding, cutting, and various constructions. The technique is used in books, cards, and illustrations, as well as in artworks and artist’s books – artistically designed books often created as one-of-a-kind pieces.
During the workshop, you'll explore both basic and more advanced pop-up techniques through guided exercises. You'll then have the opportunity to develop your own project with individual guidance.
Drawing inspiration from a variety of pop-up books, you'll explore the possibilities, constructions, and creative expressions of the technique. No previous experience is required. By the end of the workshop, you'll have created several pop-up constructions and a project to continue developing on your own.
