Sven Totté new Chair of the Board of Form/Design Center

Form/Design Center welcomes Sven Totté as the new Chair of the Board. He succeeds Monica von Schmalensee, who is stepping down after many years in the role.

Sven Totté brings extensive experience in strategic development, leadership and change management across both the private and public sectors. Through his work, he has supported organisations in strengthening their capacity for innovation, clarifying their purpose and developing sustainable structures for long-term growth.

– I look forward to contributing to the continued development of Form/Design Center as a strong platform for architecture, design and crafts. The organisation plays an important role in highlighting how design can serve as a powerful tool in societal development. Culture and creativity are essential conditions for innovation and sustainable transition, says Sven Totté.

During Monica von Schmalensee’s tenure as Chair, Form/Design Center has further strengthened its position as a national actor within architecture, design and crafts, while also advancing its work in sustainability, the designed living environment, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Form/Design Center is a dynamic public platform where industry, academia, the public sector and the wider public come together around the issues shaping our living environments. Located in a historic setting in the heart of Malmö, the organisation creates space for new perspectives through exhibitions, talks, knowledge exchange and development projects with a focus on sustainability.

The organisation has been appointed by the Swedish government as the national node for the designed living environment and is an official partner of the New European Bauhaus. Founded in 1964, Form/Design Center operates as a non-profit association, with a mandate and funding from the Ministry of Culture, the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and the Swedish Arts Council.
