Jessica Segerlund has extensive experience working at the intersection of architecture, design, culture and urban development. As Head of Think Tank at ArkDes, she has developed ways of working that bring together practice, research and public-sector collaboration. Her work has included the field of designed living environments, urban development and how architecture and design can contribute to sustainable, well-designed communities in the long term.

Previously, she spent nearly ten years as Head of Place Development at Älvstranden Utveckling in Gothenburg, where she was responsible for urban development projects including Jubileumsparken in Frihamnen. She has also worked as a project manager at the City Planning Office in Helsingborg and has a background as a curator and project manager in the arts and cultural sector.

– Jessica combines strategic leadership with experience of bringing together different stakeholders around architecture, design and urban development. These are important qualities as we now set a clear direction for the continued development of Form/Design Center. Together with the team, she will develop our public platform, strengthen our role within the sector and build long-term collaborations that will drive the organisation forward, says Sven Totté, Chair of the Board of Form/Design Center.

Form/Design Center is one of Sweden’s leading platforms for architecture, design and crafts and since 2018 has held a government mandate as a national hub for Sweden’s policy for designed living environments. Based in Malmö, Form/Design Center brings together professionals, academia, the public sector and the general public through exhibitions, programmes and development projects. By combining knowledge, practice and collaboration, Form/Design Center contributes to the sustainable transition and strengthens the role of architecture, design and crafts in societal development at local, regional, national and European levels.

– Form/Design Center has a unique opportunity to combine strong local roots with exchange at both national and European levels. With Malmö and southern Sweden as our starting point, I want to contribute to developing an organisation that engages the public and strengthens the conditions for those working in architecture, design and crafts. I look forward to getting to know the team, the organisation and the collaborations that already drive Form/Design Center forward, and to building on that momentum together, says Jessica Segerlund.

Jessica Segerlund succeeds Dorte Bo Bojesen, who retired on 1 February 2026 after seven years as CEO of Form/Design Center. During the transition period, the organisation’s management team, together with the Board, is responsible for day-to-day operations.
