The exhibition is the result of a workshop where architectural- and landscape design students at Lund University and the Alnarp campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences have created wooden sculptures composed of repetitive elements. The concept is that units/building blocks are constructed from crossbars in the dimension 50x50 and then assembled by repetition into a larger unit. Simple, logical repetition combined with intuitive design leads to unexpected and complex results.
What characterises the phenomenon is a point that attracts apparently chaotic forces around itself, for example in the form of symmetrical patterns such as a spiral. These forms are sprawling but still kept coherent by a fundamental logic.
The workshop took place 4th of November and was a collaboration between Architects Sweden, the local association at the Faculty of Engineering LTH at Lund University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
