The project and Instagram account @malmoe.a started when Marcus Gyllander gave himself a challenge to illustrate and publish one picture a day back in December 2016. Since then the details in the illustrations and the project itself has grown into almost a hundred pictures and several exhibitions has past.
"I get inspired by the beauty and the ugly, the simplicity and the complexity of our city. Through the vector illustrations I get to see new sides of my hometown, I discover unexpected details but also finding the history of Malmö. it gives me a new dimension and deeper relationship with my hometown" says Gyllander about his works.
Marcus Gyllander was born and raised in Malmö, he has a BA in Graphic Design from Charles Sturt University in Australia and is working as a graphic designer in a marketing department.
