Rya knotting is a textile technique in which yarn is knotted around the threads of a stretched warp. The knots form a soft pile, creating the dense and distinctive surface characteristic of rya. During the workshop, children will get to try the technique and experiment with yarn, colours and different forms of expression.
The workshop is led by weaver Tina Ignell and is suitable for children aged 4 and up. No previous experience is required.
The workshop is organised as part of FORMA! for Kids – Form/Design Center’s programme for children and families, where children are invited to explore and create based on the exhibitions and activities taking place at Form/Design Center.
